Norwegian examples are known with birch frames, and the chair’s dramatically bent armrests were particularly demanding to manufacture.Crafted in birch, the warm, sculptural wooden frame provides a striking contrast to the chair’s soft upholstery. This example has been reupholstered in natural sheepskin, restoring the tactile, inviting character for which the Clam Chair has become celebrated. The dense, creamy fleece accentuates the chair’s organic curves while preserving the visual lightness of its exposed arms and splayed legs.
